NEWS: THE FCC DROPED Morse Testing, over a year ago, for ALL Amateur License Classes -- "NEWINGTON, CT, Dec 15, 2006 -- In an historic move, the FCC acted to drop the Morse code requirement for all Amateur Radio license classes. Amateur Radio applicants for General and higher class licenses no longer have to pass any Morse code test to operate on HF.
  "This change eliminates an unnecessary regulatory burden that may discourage current Amateur Radio operators from advancing their skills and participating more fully in the benefits of Amateur Radio," the FCC said." The FCC's action in WT Docket 05-235 puts all Technician licensees on an equal footing: Holders of Technician class licenses have equivalent HF privileges, whether or not they've passed the old 5 WPM Element 1 Morse examination.MHz. "The FCC amended some Amateur Rules, which went into effect approx 12-15-06. Novice HF sub-bands have been eliminated/re-farmed, HF Privledges have been amended, & other changes can be seen on the ARRL & FCC websites.
